The Safe2Site Supervision Training (S2SST) and Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) are both aimed at equipping site supervisors with the necessary health and safety knowledge to manage a construction site effectively. Essentially, S2SST is an online delivery method for what is traditionally known as the SSSTS course. So, being that the S2SST is the online equivalent of the SSSTS course, the content covered is the same; both courses aim to provide supervisors with an understanding of their legal responsibilities, hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe systems of work. The key difference is simply the delivery method: CITB SSSTS is typically classroom-based, while S2SST is completed online.
ECS Managers are designed for managerial roles in the electrotechnical sector, such as Electrical Site Managers. They demonstrate competence in managing electrical projects and personnel, specifically within electrical work management, not general construction. A key differentiator of this is its focus on electrotechnical management.
The ECS Manager signifies qualification to manage electrical projects. A Level 4 management qualification is usually required, along with other prerequisites. One such prerequisite is often completion of supervision training, such as the Safe2Site Supervision Training, which is an online alternative to the SSSTS course.
However, it’s essential to consult the official ECS website for the most current and detailed requirements for the ECS Manager, as these requirements are subject to change.
