How To Apply Online For The CSCS Green Card

This card shows that you have the basic health and safety knowledge and skills required for your job. What is the CSCS green card?

The CSCS card, also known as the Labourer card, is for those who carry out labouring duties on site. It is valid for five years and can be renewed. To get this card, you must have:

  • A Level 1 Award or approved alternative in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment or Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness course.
  • A CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test pass within the last two years.

How to apply for the CSCS green card online?

To apply for the CSCS card online, you will need to create an account on the [CSCS Online] service. This is the only official online service for applying for CSCS cards. It is quick, easy and available all year round. You will need:

  • A scanned copy of your qualification certificate or proof of registration for a recognised construction related qualification.
  • The test ID number from your CITB HS&E test pass certificate.
  • A credit or debit card to pay the £36 application fee.

Once you have created your account, you can follow these steps to apply for your card:

  • Log in to your account and select ‘Apply for a new card’.
  • Select ‘Labourer’ as your occupation and confirm that you have the required qualification and HS&E test.
  • Select ‘E-Learning COSAC Safe2Site’ from the drop down list, if you completed Safe2Site.
  • Upload your qualification certificate or proof of registration as a PDF or JPEG file.
  • Enter your test ID number and personal details.
  • Review your application and make the payment.
  • Confirm your application and wait for approval.

 

What happens after I apply?

After you submit your application, it will be reviewed by CSCS. If your application is approved, your CSCS card will be posted out to you the next working day. Most cards arrive within 3-5 days of application approval. If your card does not arrive within 10 days, please contact CSCS.
